Mudgee Readers’ Festival 2012 - Great Stories, Great Conversations
|
This festival, human in scale and infused with spirited good-will, felt genuinely welcoming to the writer and relevant to the community. I commend all involved and thank each for the honour of being included on their program. The festival, in short, was stimulating, intelligent and beautifully well run. The Mudgee Readers' Festival has been established to celebrate the joy of reading. This is a 'readers' festival, not a 'writers' festival. We figure that everyone reads, but not everyone is interested in writing a book of their own.
Our Festival provides an opportunity to sit back and let the authors' stories wash over you, as well as a chance to put your own curly questions to the authors.

We aim to have something for everyone, with a wide range of authors and literature styles. We try to include a children’s author, a bit of history, something to challenge us and make us think, as well as simply great stories.
We strive to create a relaxed and friendly atmosphere in which everyone feels comfortable – audience as well as authors. The 2012 event was typified by quality conversations, a few curly questions from the floor as well as lot of humour and laughter. All good! |

The Festival includes presentations in an ‘in conversation’ format and panel discussions, as well as literary lunches and dinners. We set a fairly relaxed pace so there is plenty of time to include a glass of wine or two, as our logo suggests! Visit our Gallery pages for images of past events and information about the authors we have been privileged to host.
